Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

Psychology

What is a MHCP?

A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is a document created by a General Practitioner (GP) in Australia to help you access mental health support through the Better Access initiative. It outlines your mental health needs and treatment goals and includes referrals to professionals such as psychologists. With an MHCP, you can receive Medicare rebates for up to 10 subsidised sessions per year, making it more affordable to get the help you need

“A Mental Health Care Plan is a key to accessing psychological support, providing you with a structured pathway to receive help from qualified professionals.”
